Where BMW, Apple and Diesel filmed top commercials in Kyiv

Ukraine attracts not only tourists from all over the world but also world-renowned directors. BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé on the roads of Kyiv

When the whole world was waiting for the incredible BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé release, Ukrainians have already seen this it on Kyiv roads. It was here that the advertising for this amazing car was filmed. In this short video, you can see the **Kyiv bridges **(even the unfinished Podilsko-Voskresensky Bridge), the tunnel under the Post Square, the waterfront, as well as magnificent views of one of the most beautiful areas of the capital - Podil. 

AirPods — Bounce — Apple

Even Apple found Kyiv a great place to shoot their advertising for the AirPods, wireless headphones. According to the plot, the main character is in a city where streets, avenues, pedestrian crossings have become bounces. The hero jumps through the bus stops, collapses into hatches and in the finale of the roller finds himself on the roof of the house, where he as a bird has the opportunity to truly appreciate the beauty of the city from a height.

Three Cannes Lions for advertising in Kyiv

The Diesel brand advertisement, which was filmed in Kyiv at the Podilsko-Voskresensky Bridge and the Karpenko-Kary National University of Theater, Cinema, and Television, received three Cannes Lions in 2018 (at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival). These are the most prestigious awards in the advertising world. The awards were given in three categories: directing, production design, and camera work. A Ukrainian company handled the production. It was directed by François Rousselle, who previously collaborated with Madonna, Depeche Mode, and The Rolling Stones.

Advertising based on the Game of Thrones series

In November 2016, Ukrainian studio “Radioaktive Film”, together with the Israeli company Sodastream, filmed an advertisement in Kyiv based on the Game of Thrones series. According to the plot, the protagonist buys water in plastic bottles, for which the monk Septa Unella (the character of the 5th and 6th seasons of the Game of Thrones), begins to follow him and stigmatize, parodying the scene of punishment of Cersei Lannister on the streets of Kings Landing from the episode 10 season 5. So they go all over the store, and then through the crowd of people at the **St. Andrew's Descent **and near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. In the end, Haftor Bjärnsson, who played Gregor "The Mountain" Clegan, explains to the "prisoner" that plastic is damaging our planet and advertise a device for soda water.
